My vision for Bird’s Nest and Beeswax is to inform and educate the Anabaptist community on the goodness, beauty, and holiness of sex. To help provide an understanding of how sex, when corrupted, can lead to porn, human trafficking, and sexual abuse. I hope to bring this conversation into the church so that we no longer shy away from it. When everything is taught in code words, quick whispers, or through the internet, this is when the door is opened for sexual sin and abuse.
My goal is to one day provide tangible materials for parents, pastors, teens, and mentors in guiding the next generation in a right view of God‘s design for sex. For now I hope to provide online content to open the conversation and bring awareness!

Hello, welcome to a space where we talk about the beauty of sex. We cover many topics including sex education, sexual abuse, addiction, and the beauty of sex within the Kingdom of God. Basically all things sexual.
I have a passion to bring sex education to the Anabaptist world and schools. Through the use of sex education, in our homes and schools, we can help inform the next generation on appropriate touch, what the opposite gender experiences during puberty, and how to protect against sexual abuse. The topic of sex has been eradicated from the plain churches due to a fear that people will do the sinful thing. Research has shown that within plain communities (Amish and Mennonite) there are many hidden cases of sexual abuse and incest within families. Implementing sex education in the school system will potentially help children to grow a better understanding of the beauty of sex, their bodies, and the nature of God.
I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a focus on addiction and sexual addiction. As a child I experienced various occasions of sexual abuse, this spiraled into many years of a porn addiction, which then caused me to seek out relationships in the wrong places, as well as, masturbating. It took many years for me to actually get to a place where I desired to work on my addiction and get help, after going to therapy I have been able to have 2 years absolutely clean from porn and the overwhelming desire to masturbate.
It is through these experiences and therapy that the desire has grown to help others who may have gone through similar situations. My prayer is through this blog and eventual resources the knowledge of the beauty of sex within the Kingdom of God can help to heal and restore our viewpoint on sex.
My desire for this page and blog is that God would be glorified and the Kingdom of God is advanced. My prayer is that some of the ground of sex that evil has stolen will be restored to the Kingdom of God.
